Evangeline Lilly born as Nicole Evangeline Lilly on August 3rd, 1979 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada is a wonderful Canadian film and television actress best known for her tremendous performance as Kate Austen in the ABC television drama "Lost". She received multiple awards for her performance in the "Lost".

Evangeline Lilly was born to a beauty consultant mother and father who is an economics teacher. She has a younger sister. Evangeline Lilly attended three elementary schools at Fort Saskatchewan before moving to the city. Evangeline Lilly grew up in a faithful Christian family and volunteered to work as foreign missionary. She subsequently spent some time in Philippines living in a grass hut doing her missionary work. Evangeline Lilly has worked as an airline hostess and waitress for a short while before taking up her education.

Evangeline Lilly attended the University of British Columbia and soon founded a World Development and Human Rights committee and became active in International Relations. While pursuing her studies, Evangeline signed up with Ford Modeling Agency to pay up for her college fees. Evangeline Lilly was earlier discovered by Ford Modeling Agency on the streets of Kelowna, British Columbia but she declined their offer in order to pursue her education and missionary works.

Evangeline began her acting career with "Judgment Day" in 2002 and has since appeared in several single episodic television dramas like "Smallville" {2002}and "Tru Calling" {2003} and Kingdom Hospital {2004} and had a recurring role in ABC's sci-fi television drama "Lost" {82 episodes: 2004-2008}. Evangeline Lilly gave a magnificent performance as Kate Austen in the "Lost" for which she received several nominations for awards including Golden Globe and Saturn Awards. Evangeline has also appeared in movies such as "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" in 2002 and "The Long Weekend" in 2005. It's just amazing how a girl who never had a television set in her family has grown up to be a marvelous television star.

Evangeline Lilly who is fondly known as Evie has been named as 'Sexiest Women' by FHM, Maxim and Wizard magazines. Her house in Hawaii got gutted in a fire in December of 2006. Though no one was hurt in the fire accident she lost everything she had.

Evangeline Lilly was married to Canadian hockey player Murray Hone which ended in divorce later.
